FAQs
What should I expect during my first medication management appointment?
1
During your first appointment, your provider will take time to understand your concerns, symptoms, medical history, and treatment goals. You'll discuss your current medications, previous treatments, and whether psychiatric medication might be helpful. Together, you'll develop a personalized treatment plan that fits your individual needs.
How do I know if medication is right for me?
2
Medication can be helpful for individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood changes, and other mental health concerns. Our psychiatric nurse practitioners will carefully evaluate your symptoms, discuss available treatment options, and help you determine whether medication could be beneficial. Medication is not always necessary, and your preferences are an important part of the decision-making process.
Can I receive counseling and medication management at Peak Counseling?
3
Yes! Peak Counseling offers counseling services and access to psychiatric medication management at the same location. With your permission, your therapist and medication provider can collaborate to support your overall mental health. Combining counseling and medication management can be especially helpful for individuals seeking comprehensive mental health care.
Can I continue medications prescribed by another provider?
4
Yes, in many cases. If you're already taking psychiatric medications, your provider can review your current prescriptions, medical history, and treatment progress to determine whether continuing your medications is appropriate. Your provider may also recommend adjustments based on your individual needs. Continuing any prescription is subject to clinical evaluation and applicable prescribing requirements.
